I can't claim this find as my own - I think John Pippin found it for us in the Emmaus shop out on the A10. I can't even remember how much it cost - I think somewhere arounf £20. But it was over a year ago that we got it. Anyway, the reason I'm posting about it now is that the other day we finally got around to making it work!

It gives such a beautiful, soft, yellow light, and a surprising amount of warmth. Perfect for summer evenings. We are pleased to have finally got around to getting it going and wish we'd done so before! With it on, we can read without any other electric lights on, and the light is much nicer.
We have a little kerosene lamp like that - we only use it when the power goes out...yours looks lovely...
